We have brought to together a young, dynamic team of people with professional experience within and outside the ticketing industry. We are qualified and prepared to operate the .TICKETS Registry and aim to be at the forefront of the next Internet revolution.

What is .TICKETS?

.TICKETS is a new Internet extension we have proposed as part of the New gTLD Program being implemented by ICANN. We intend to create a safe, secure and trusted global domain environment for online ticket sales, marketing and promotions which is free from fraudulent activity.

Who sets the rules for entry to the domain?

Our proposal to ICANN is very clear in that we will engage with the industries we support to facilitate the industry organisations themselves to set the policies that will apply to the .TICKETS domain. In so doing, we will create a policy-making procedure that balances the participation of  industry with consultation and advice from consumer groups and others, such as national government and law enforcement agencies.

Who is ICANN?

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is a not for profit, private organization created to oversee a number of Internet-related matters. It is responsible for the coordination of the global Internet’s systems of unique identifiers and, in particular, ensuring its stable and secure operation. One of its key responsibilities is introducing and promoting competition in the registration of domain names, while ensuring the security and stability of the domain name system (DNS).

What is a generic Top Level Domain (gTLD)?

It is an Internet domain name extension such as .COM, .NET OR .ORG. There are over 20 gTLDs now but there will be many more soon, increasing competition and choice into the Internet’s addressing system.

What is on-line ticket fraud?

On-line ticket fraud occurs when consumers go to a website and purchase tickets which are either counterfeit or do not materialise.

Fake websites aren’t always easy to spot & criminals invest heavily in making them look legitimate & very professional. Furthermore, contrary to popular belief the presence of HTTPS does not necessarily means that a website is secure & not being used for fraudulent purposes. As users become more fraud-aware, online scammers are making increasing efforts to trick consumers into visiting fake ticketing websites.
